Vive la difference!

On a cold, wintery day, in a front room in Berkshire two friends hatched a plan, over a cup of Colombia’s finest coffee. A plan that may not bring about world peace and most certainly will not cure any disease. No, this is a different kind of plan - a plan to make every girl’s wedding dreams come true. Thus The Wedding Stylers were born.

As creative, alternative types we are bored with the conventions that make up the wedding industry and it seems more and more brides agree with us! We want to offer an alternative, maybe even open up avenues you never considered before. Do you want a black dress? Or maybe no dress at all? Perhaps scuba gear and an underwater wedding? A flower free wedding – but what is your alternative? Wedding favours with a difference? Beautiful, individual, handmade gifts for the wedding party? Whatever the dream, we would like to help you make it come true. We hope to inspire brides and service providers alike, and be inspired in return by the magic you create for your special day.

We are not confined to the realms of the internet. We leap off the screen, occasionally, and appear in the flesh at our Alternative Wedding Showcases. These are the perfect place for brides and service providers to meet and exchange ideas. The interaction shouldn’t stop there. Stories and photos of your alternative/ different/ unusual wedding are welcomed. Help us inspire others! Don’t fret if you struggle to find what you’re looking for – that is what we are here for. We offer a personal research service to find whatever service you want or need, no matter how unusual.

We want to build on our database of edgy, alternative, creative service providers of traditional wedding service and the not so traditional. If you think that could be you – we would like to hear from you. The whims of our brides are varied and extend way beyond the realms of convention, so don’t be shy. Chances are someone is after your service right now and we would love to introduce you to them. If you are not sure if your service is applicable to the wedding market, we will be happy to help you develop and market such an application.

You will still have to find your own frog and turn him into Prince Charming, but ladies, once you have done that, we are here to help – every step of the way!

  1. Hi,
A friend linked to your face book profile today. I am a calligrapher and specialise in wedding stationary. While I am fairly fledgling, you may come across a bride and groom who would like artistic wedding invites, either made by me or simply written by me. Feel free to get in touch.

  2. Hey Kelly-Marie,

Thanks for contacting us. I had a look at your website and we would love to work with you. We have a showcase coming up. We've not finalised all the details, so we have not published it yet, but if it's ok with you I would like to email you about it and see if you're interested.

  3. Hey Anina,

Sorry for this comment being so long after the post was originally made, I've been having a big long think about what I wan to do with myself. I think my illustration talents could be used in much the same places as Kelly-Maries but to create a different feel. I have created invitations for a member of staff where I completed my degree. I have a website under construction at the moment, but have a few examples of my work on my blog and on my deviantart account.
